Spring 2025 #4

A perfect night, calm and mild, but moths and other insect life were very quiet, however there was plenty of interest in the garden moths that did arrive. Most images will enlarge.

Entometer fervens, female.

Pholodes sinistraria, male.

Aglaopus pyrrhata.

Pinara divisa complex, female.

Females rarely come to the light, and males almost never do, probably being day fliers, but occasionally fortune smiles, and in 2012 a male decided to check out the light.

Pleasingly another Syneora hemeropa female came in.

Nacoleia rhoeoalis, the larvae recycle leaf litter.

A Bogong moth, Agrotis infusa, good to see.

And a nicely marked Anestia ombrophanes.
