{"id":3929,"date":"2026-03-16T00:50:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T00:50:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/?p=3929"},"modified":"2026-03-16T00:50:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T00:50:25","slug":"moth-photography-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/2026\/03\/16\/moth-photography-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Moth Photography #3."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With the street trees being Silky Oaks, Grevillea robusta, and grevilleas and hakeas in the garden,\u00a0 it is little wonder that the\u00a0 Hakea Wine Moth Oenochroma vinaria has been a common moth.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/oenov.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"411\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Several species of genus Ectropis live in the garden, this is Ectropis fractaria.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/frac.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"448\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dissomorphia australiaria is quite variable in appearance this is an extreme example.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/diss.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"402\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Fisera is a genus with several members undescribed, this is Fisera bellidearia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/fis.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"819\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In MOV Volume four, Chlorocoma vertumnaria is shown occurring in a broad swathe north and west of Melbourne. In 2008 and 2010 several moths with the same characteristics came in from the garden.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/vert.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"340\" \/><\/p>\n<p>MOV 7 has four species of Cleora, sp. 1 2 3 &amp; 4, species 2 is local, this is a patched individual.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/patched.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"361\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And a Vine hawk Moth, Hippotion celerio.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/retro\/hippo.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"532\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With the street trees being Silky Oaks, Grevillea robusta, and grevilleas and hakeas in the garden,\u00a0 it is little wonder that the\u00a0 Hakea Wine Moth Oenochroma vinaria has been a common moth.
