As usual, things were quiet for the first half hour or so after the light was switched on at 9pm, daylight saving makes for late nights. Gradually then, moths started to arrive with the Pink Arhodia, Arhodia lasiocamparia coming in in unusual numbers over the next couple of hours, females and males.<\/p>\n<p>Female.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b036b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"457\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Male.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b002b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"644\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Two species of twisted moth, the Grey Twisted-moth, Circopetes obtusata, female,<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b005b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"352\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And the Marbled Twisted-moth, Parepisparis excusata, male.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b004b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"340\" \/><\/p>\n<p>More than one of each came in, the night was looking good. Anthelids were numerous, mainly Anthela repleta, with only one from the acuta complex seen.<\/p>\n<p>Anthela repleta.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b007b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another Geometrid, Capusa senilis, with wings spread to show the diagnostic terminal dark bands on the hind wings..<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b003b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"521\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A Noctuid, common at this time of year, Diatenes aglossoides.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b006b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And another, the Brown Praxis, Praxis porphyretica.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/briag3\/b008b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"520\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To be continued.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last mothing session for the year took place in the bush block on a perfect night, warm and calm.
