{"id":2957,"date":"2021-03-04T04:21:44","date_gmt":"2021-03-04T04:21:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/?p=2957"},"modified":"2021-03-04T04:21:44","modified_gmt":"2021-03-04T04:21:44","slug":"summer-2021-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/2021\/03\/04\/summer-2021-6\/","title":{"rendered":"Summer 2021 #6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last night of summer, and the first moth to the sheet was an autumn flying species, Elhamma australasiae, (Hepialidae) a female, followed later by a male.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/fem.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"992\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/male.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"972\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another early arrival was a male Circopetes obtusata, (Oenochrominae) demonstrating the descriptive common name of Grey Twisted-moth.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/circopetes.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/circopetesb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A couple of Geometrids, the Dashed Geometrid, Dissomorphia australiaria (Macariini)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/aust.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/austb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"419\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And Amelora MOV sp(7), (Nacophorini)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/geo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/geob.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"677\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An Old Lady popped in for a visit, Dasypodia selenophora, (Erebidae)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/lady.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths21\/ladyb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"463\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During several years of mothing, every Anthela acuta to the light, and there have been a lot, has been a male.
