The Angophora costata is shedding bark in large flakes, and occasionally an Oenosandra boisduvalii larva comes to light. The adult is known as Boisduval&#8217;s Autumn Moth, and both male and female are striking moths.<\/p>\n<p>Male.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/oenom1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/oenom1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"395\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Female.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/oenof1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/oenof1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Larva.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/bois.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/boisb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"323\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Pinara divisa is resident in the garden and photos and info about this attractive moth may be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/2019\/05\/21\/the-lasiocampidae-5\/\">found here<\/a>. The larvae are also quite striking and several have been found on tree trunks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/pinara.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/pinarab.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"559\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The larvae of Sparshall&#8217;s moth, Trichiocercus sparshalli have been common and pictured here previously, but this is a different angle showing the prolegs.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/spar.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"1041\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This season has seen a most unusual number of case moth larvae on the trees and shrubs. This good sized individual was found grazing on the Leptospermum rotundifolium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/case.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/caseb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"443\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While wandering around the garden at night with a torch, this Old Lady Moth, Dasypodia selenophora was discovered nectaring in the Callistemon sieberi.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/olm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths20\/olmb.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"725\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Most images will enlarge.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First, some larvae.
