{"id":2785,"date":"2020-11-02T02:57:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T02:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/?p=2785"},"modified":"2020-11-02T02:57:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-02T02:57:36","slug":"a-seed-borer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/2020\/11\/02\/a-seed-borer\/","title":{"rendered":"A Seed Borer."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While checking out the tree trunks for insects and spiders, this small moth was noticed wandering around looking for a nook in which to hide.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths19\/limv2.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"885\" \/><\/p>\n<p>It was a first record for the location, and research found it to be Limnaecia cirrhosema, a member of the Cosmopterigidae family. A day or so later another was found on the same tree, sheltering behind a small bark flake.
