Just three Plesanemma fucata arrived, including this nice male displaying his antennae.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut2.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"912\" \/><\/p>\n<p>An early arrival was a female Trichiocercus sparshalli, (Notodontidae)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut3.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"927\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One Hepialid came in, Oxycanus australis, a first record.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut1b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"417\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Epyaxa subidaria, (Larentiinae) may be encountered throughout the year, it will often perch with its wings closed as this male is doing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut4b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"621\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wings spread.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut5b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Epyaxa sodaliata is much less common.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut6b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"387\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few Noctuids were about including this Dasygaster padockina, (Hadeninae)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut7b.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"626\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Small moths were scarce, one Tortricid was photographed, Acropolitis rudisana.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/natureofgippsland.org\/mothing\/moths17\/aut8.jpg\" width=\"700\" height=\"883\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Horizontal images will enlarge.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A final garden session for autumn saw a small number of moths come into the light.
